Process drive for 200-240 V three-phase loads
The ATV630U30M3US is a standard-variant Altivar Process drive rated 200-240 V supply, delivering 3 hp (2.2 kW) in heavy-duty service and 4 hp (3 kW) in normal duty. Continuous output current is 13.7 A at 4 kHz carrier for normal duty, 11.2 A at 4 kHz for heavy duty. It is designed for asynchronous and synchronous motors in process and utilities applications — pumps, fans, conveyors, compressors — where the PID regulator loop and fieldbus connectivity match the control architecture. The drive ships without an EMC filter, so the installer should budget an external filter if the installation must meet conducted emission limits for the environment (IEC 61800-3 category C2 or C3 depending on cable length and grounding).
Safety, fieldbus, and mounting constraints
Safe Torque Off (STO) is integrated at SIL 3 per IEC 61508 and EN 13849-1 — the drive can be wired into a safety circuit without an external safety relay for the power removal function, reducing panel wiring and cabinet space. Communication options are extensive: the slot accepts Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, Modbus TCP/EtherNet/IP, CANopen (daisy-chain RJ45, SUB-D 9, or screw terminals), Ethernet Powerlink, and BACnet MS/TP. The base unit also carries Modbus serial and Modbus TCP onboard. Mounting is wall-mount vertical (±10°), IP21 per IEC 60529 and UL Type 1 per UL 508C. Forced-convection cooling moves 38 m³/h (10039 Gal/hr US) of air — ensure clearance above and below the drive per the installation manual, and no recirculation of hot exhaust into the intake.
Active lifecycle and sourcing posture
It carries CE marking and complies with UL 508C, IEC 61800-3 (environments 1 category C2 and 2 category C3), IEC 61800-5-1, IEC 61000-3-12, IEC 60721-3, IEC 61508, and IEC 13849-1. No stock-holding claim; quoted per request.
