The ATV630U40N4Z is a 4 kW normal duty / 3 kW heavy duty variable speed drive from the Altivar Process ATV600 range, rated for 380-480 V three-phase supply. It delivers 9.3 A continuous output at 4 kHz for normal duty, 7.2 A at 4 kHz for heavy duty. Line current draws 7.6 A at 380 V normal duty, 6.7 A at 480 V normal duty, 6 A at 380 V heavy duty, 5.4 A at 480 V heavy duty. Output frequency spans 0.1 to 500 Hz, covering asynchronous and synchronous motors. Integrated EMC filter meets IEC 61800-3 category C2 at 10 m cable and category C3 at 50 m cable. The drive carries CE marking and complies with UL 508C, IEC 61800-3, IEC 61800-5-1, IEC 61508, and IEC 13849-1.
Safety and control
STO (safe torque off) function rated SIL 3 is built in. The drive includes an adjustable PID regulator for process control. Eight discrete inputs are present, with DI7 and DI8 programmable as pulse inputs up to 30 kHz, 24 V DC, 1 MOhm. Slot A accepts communication option cards: Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, Modbus TCP/EtherNet/IP, CANopen (daisy chain RJ45, SUB-D 9, or screw terminals), and Ethernet Powerlink. Slot A/B also accepts digital/analog I/O extension and output relay extension modules. Communication ports include Ethernet, Modbus serial, and Modbus TCP as standard. The drive is designed for process and utilities applications, with forced convection cooling requiring 38 m³/h airflow. Mount vertically within ±10°, cabinet mount with heat sink.
