Process drive with built-in disconnect
The ATV650C20N4F is a floor-standing Altivar Process ATV600 series drive rated for 200 kW normal duty and 160 kW heavy duty on asynchronous or synchronous motors. The variant includes an integrated disconnect switch, which simplifies panel wiring by eliminating a separate upstream disconnecting means. Supply voltage is 380...440 V at 50/60 Hz. Continuous output current is 370 A at 2.5 kHz for normal duty and 302 A at 2.5 kHz for heavy duty, with line current draw up to 369 A at 380 V heavy duty.
Safety, EMC, and environmental ratings
An integrated EMC filter meets IEC 61800-3 category C3 with up to 150 m of motor cable, so external filtering is not needed for most industrial installations. Enclosure is IP54 per IEC 60529 and IEC 61800-5-1, suitable for floor-standing installation in areas with dust and splash exposure. Pollution degree 3, overvoltage category III, and vibration resistance to IEC 60068-2-6 (1 gn at 13-200 Hz) cover typical industrial environments. Operating temperature range is -15 to 40 °C without derating, extending to 50 °C with derating. Total harmonic current distortion (THDI) is below 48% at full load per IEC 61000-3-12, which helps meet plant power-quality limits without a separate line reactor in many cases.
Fieldbus, I/O, and commissioning flexibility
Slot A accepts communication modules for PROFINET, DeviceNet, Modbus TCP/EtherNet/IP, CANopen (daisy chain RJ45, SUB-D 9, or screw terminals), Profibus DP V1, Ethernet Powerlink, and BACnet MS/TP. Slot A and slot B also accept digital/analog I/O extension and output relay extension modules. Eight discrete inputs are provided, with DI7 and DI8 programmable as pulse inputs up to 30 kHz. Built-in Modbus serial and Ethernet Modbus TCP are standard. The adjustable PID regulator supports closed-loop process control without an external controller. Output frequency range is 0.1 to 500 Hz.
