60 hp process drive in an IP55 wall-mount package
The ATV650D45N4 is a 60 hp normal duty / 50 hp heavy duty variable speed drive from Schneider Electric's Altivar Process ATV600 series, designed for pumps, fans, compressors, and conveyors in process and utilities applications. It delivers 88.0 A nominal output current from a 380-480 V three-phase supply, with continuous output of 87 A at 4 kHz for normal duty and 59 A at 4 kHz for heavy duty. The IP55 enclosure (per IEC 60529 and IEC 61800-5-1) makes it suitable for washdown areas and dusty industrial environments without needing a separate enclosure. Wall mount orientation with vertical ±10° tolerance ensures proper forced-convection cooling airflow.
Integrated EMC filter and harmonic compliance for grid connection
The drive ships with an integrated EMC filter that covers 50 m motor cable runs to IEC 61800-3 category C2 (restricted distribution) and 150 m runs to category C3 (industrial environment). This eliminates the need for an external filter in most industrial installations, saving panel space and wiring time. Total harmonic current distortion (THDI) is below 48 % from 80 to 100 % load, complying with IEC 61000-3-12 for connection to the public low-voltage grid.
STO SIL 3 safety function and flexible I/O for process control
Safe Torque Off (STO) integrated to SIL 3 per IEC 61508 and EN/IEC 13849-1 means the drive can safely remove torque from the motor without an external safety relay — a critical spare for lines where safety circuit downtime is expensive. The adjustable PID regulator enables closed-loop control of pressure, flow, or level directly from the drive. Eight discrete inputs are available, with DI7 and DI8 programmable as 0-30 kHz pulse inputs for encoder feedback or flow meter signals. Slot A accepts seven communication module options including PROFINET, DeviceNet, Modbus TCP/EtherNet/IP, CANopen, Profibus DP V1, and Ethernet Powerlink; Slot A/B also accepts digital/analog I/O and relay extension modules.
Active production — sourced per RFQ against your BOM
The drive carries CE marking and complies with UL 508C, IEC 61800-5-1, IEC 61800-3, IEC 61508, and EN/IEC 13849-1. Altitude derating starts above 1000 m at 1 % per 100 m up to 4800 m.
