75 kW heavy-duty drive for process and utilities
The ATV650D75N4 is a variable speed drive from the Altivar Process ATV600 series, designed for asynchronous and synchronous motors in process and utility applications. It delivers 75 kW (100 hp) in normal duty and 55 kW (75 hp) in heavy duty, with a continuous output current of 145 A at 2.5 kHz for normal duty and 87 A for heavy duty. The IP55 enclosure (per IEC 60529) suits wall-mounted installations in washdown or dusty areas — the cooling is forced convection, so keep the vertical +/-10° mounting orientation and leave clearance for airflow.
Safety, fieldbus, and I/O flexibility
Built-in STO (safe torque off) rated SIL 3 per IEC 61508 eliminates the need for an external safety relay on the power removal path — wire the STO inputs directly to the safety PLC or light-curtain output. The drive also carries an adjustable PID regulator for closed-loop process control (pressure, flow, level) without an external controller. Communication is covered by a built-in Modbus TCP port, plus two option-card slots (Slot A and Slot B) that accept PROFINET, DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP, CANopen, Profibus DP V1, or analog/digital I/O and relay extension modules. Eight digital inputs (DI7/DI8 configurable as pulse inputs up to 30 kHz) give enough local I/O for basic start/stop and speed reference without an extra module.
Altitude derating starts at 1000 m — above that, reduce current by 1 % per 100 m up to 4800 m. Vibration resistance is 1 gn (13-200 Hz) and shock resistance is 15 gn for 11 ms, both per IEC 60068-2-6 and IEC 60068-2-27.
