125 hp at 600 V — normal and heavy duty ratings
The ATV6A0C11S6 delivers 125 hp in normal duty and 100 hp in heavy duty at 600 V, with corresponding line currents of 112 A and 92 A. The apparent power at normal duty is 116 kVA, dropping to 96 kVA under heavy duty — this difference matters when sizing the upstream transformer and feeder cables for the actual load profile. The drive accepts synchronous and asynchronous motors, with an adjustable switching frequency between 2 and 4.9 kHz that carries a derating factor — raising the carrier to quiet motor whine reduces the continuous output current, so the heavy-duty current rating is the safer starting point for a fan or pump load.
STO SIL 3 and integrated EMC filter
The drive also integrates an EMC filter compliant with IEC 61800-3 category C3, supporting motor cable runs up to 300 m without an external output filter — a practical saving on long conveyor or pump runs. The drive carries CE marking and complies with UL 61800-5-1, IEC 61800-5-1, and IEC 61000-3-12 for harmonic current emissions, with a maximum THDI below 48% at full load. This covers both European and North American installation requirements from a single unit.
Modular architecture and fieldbus options
The modular variant includes a control unit, power module, mechanical mounting kits, and a set of fuses — the power module is rated 200 kW. Slot A accepts communication modules for Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, Modbus TCP/EtherNet/IP, or CANopen (with RJ45, SUB-D 9, or screw terminal variants), plus digital/analog I/O and relay extension modules. Native Modbus serial (2-wire RS 485, RTU frame, 1–247 addresses) and Modbus TCP over Ethernet IP (10/100 Mbit/s) are on board, so the drive can join a mixed-fieldbus line without an extra gateway for the primary control network.
Protection coverage and environmental limits
The drive protects against motor thermal overload, phase loss, short circuit, earth faults, DC bus overvoltage, line supply undervoltage/overvoltage, phase loss, overspeed, and control circuit break. The prospective line short-circuit current rating is 50 kA — this sets the SCCR floor for the panel label. Operating altitude is limited to 2000 m with derating above 1000 m; ambient relative humidity range is 5–95% without condensation. Vibration resistance is 1.5 mm peak-to-peak at 2–13 Hz and 0.5 gn at 13–200 Hz per IEC 60068-2-6, with shock resistance of 4 gn at 11 ms per IEC 60068-2-27.
