The Schneider ATV6A0C16Q4 is a modular Altivar Process ATV600 drive sized for 160 kW normal duty (193 kVA) or 132 kW heavy duty (161 kVA) on a 400 V three-phase supply. It ships as a power module, control unit, mechanical mounting kit, and power connection set of fuses — not a standalone enclosure. The integrated EMC filter meets IEC 61800-3 Category C3 with up to 300 m of motor cable, which covers most industrial installations without an external filter. STO (Safe Torque Off) rated SIL 3 is on board, saving a separate safety relay. Normal duty (160 kW) suits variable-torque loads like pumps and fans; heavy duty (132 kW) is the constant-torque rating for conveyors, extruders, or compressors. The line current at 400 V is 278 A ND and 233 A HD, so the upstream protection and cabling must be sized accordingly.
The drive's control power comes from a separate 24 V DC supply (19...30 V) for the digital inputs, plus an internal 10.5 V (±5 %) supply for a 1 to 10 kΩ reference potentiometer. The STO and digital input supply also has its own 24 V DC rail (21...27 V, <200 mA) with overload and short-circuit protection. Plan a 24 V DC source that can deliver at least 200 mA for the logic alone. Communication is built in: two-wire RS-485 Modbus serial (RTU, selectable parity, 4.8–38.4 kbit/s) and a dual-port Ethernet switch for Modbus TCP/IP (10/100 Mbit/s, half/full duplex, auto-negotiation). Slot A accepts optional fieldbus modules: Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, Modbus TCP/EtherNet/IP, or CANopen. Slot A and slot B can also take digital/analog I/O or output relay extensions — good for adding local control without a separate PLC.

The drive carries CE marking and is designed to IEC 61800-3 (EMC), IEC 61800-5-1 (safety), IEC 61000-3-12 (harmonics, THDI <48 % at full load), IEC 60721-3 (environmental), IEC 61508, and ISO 13849-1 (functional safety). Pollution degree 2 per IEC 61800-5-1. Shock resistance: 7 gn for 11 ms. Operating altitude up to 1000 m without derating, then 1 % per 100 m up to 4800 m. Relative humidity 5–95 % non-condensing.
