Cabinet mounting and power connections
The Schneider Electric ATV6A0C16S6 is a modular cabinet-mount variable frequency drive in the Altivar Process ATV600 series. It is rated for 175 hp at 600 V normal duty, with a corresponding line current of 152 A and apparent power of 158 kVA. The heavy-duty rating is 150 hp, 131 A at 600 V. The drive accepts a supply frequency of 50 to 60 Hz, and the switching frequency is adjustable from 2 to 4.9 kHz with derating. An integrated EMC filter complying with IEC 61800-3 category C3 (300 m cable) saves panel space and external filter costs. Line-side and motor connections use screw terminals; the motor connection is via M10 bars. The drive includes a power connection set of fuses and mechanical mounting kits in the kit composition. Enclosure rating is UL type 1 for cabinet integration, assuming proper ventilation given forced-convection cooling.
Fieldbus slot and safety loop
Two option card slots (A and B) accept communication modules for Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, Modbus TCP/EtherNet/IP, or CANopen (RJ45, SUB-D 9, or screw terminals). The drive ships with a Modbus serial slave interface (2-wire RS-485, RTU frame, addresses 1–247) and a Modbus TCP slave port (10/100 Mbit/s, half/full duplex, auto-negotiation). For OEMs migrating from legacy fieldbuses, slot A retains the PROFINET or Profibus option without removing the integrated serial port. Safe torque off (STO) is integrated to SIL 3, which reduces external safety relay hardware for simple stop functions. The drive also monitors motor phase break, overspeed, DC bus overvoltages, line supply phase loss, and ground faults. That protection suite covers both the drive and the motor.
The drive carries CE marking and complies with IEC 61800-3 (EMC), IEC 61800-5-1 (safety), IEC 61000-3-12 (harmonic limits), IEC 60721-3 (environmental), IEC 61508 and IEC 13849-1 (functional safety), and UL 61800-5-1. Pollution degree 2, altitude up to 2000 m with current derating above 1000 m, and shock resistance 4 gn / 11 ms. Vibration resistance: 1.5 mm peak-to-peak at 2–13 Hz, 0.5 gn at 13–200 Hz.
