Drive selection memo — ATV6A0C20R4
The Schneider ATV6A0C20R4 is an Altivar Process ATV600 modular drive rated for 200 kW at 440 V normal duty and 160 kW heavy duty, with corresponding line currents of 325 A and 269 A. It carries STO SIL 3 as a standard safety function and integrates an EMC filter compliant with IEC 61800-3 category C3 for cable runs up to 300 m. The lifecycle stage is current, so this is the production variant to specify for new builds or critical spares.
Control supply and I/O architecture
The control section requires an external 24 V DC supply (19...30 V) for the digital inputs, plus a separate internal 24 V DC rail (21...27 V, <200 mA) for the digital inputs and STO circuit, with overload and short-circuit protection built in. A 10.5 V DC reference supply is provided for a 1 to 10 kOhm potentiometer. The six digital inputs (DI1–DI6) are programmable, with DI5 and DI6 capable of 0–30 kHz pulse input. Three analog inputs (AI1–AI3) are software-configurable for voltage (0–10 V DC, 30 kOhm) or current (0–20 mA / 4–20 mA, 250 Ohm), all 12-bit resolution. Two analog outputs (AO1, AO2) are also present. Three configurable relay outputs (R1–R3) handle fault and sequence signalling, each rated for 100,000 cycles.
Option card slots and fieldbus
Slot A accepts communication modules for Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, Modbus TCP/EtherNet/IP, or CANopen (daisy chain RJ45, SUB-D 9, or screw terminals). Slot A and slot B can also accept digital/analog I/O extension modules or output relay extension modules. The drive ships with a Modbus serial port (2-wire RS 485, RTU frame, 4.8 to 38.4 kbit/s) and an Ethernet port for Modbus TCP (10/100 Mbit/s, half/full duplex, autonegotiation).
The drive complies with IEC 61800-3, IEC 61800-5-1, IEC 61000-3-12, IEC 60721-3, IEC 61508, and IEC 13849-1. Pollution degree 2 per IEC 61800-5-1. Operating altitude up to 1000 m without derating, then 1 % per 100 m to 4800 m. Ambient humidity 5–95 % non-condensing. Shock resistance 7 gn for 11 ms. Noise level 70 dB. Forced convection cooling. Cabinet mount, modular variant.
