The Schneider ATV6A0C31N6 is a cabinet-mount modular drive from the Altivar Process ATV600 series, rated for 220 kW motor power at 500 V in normal duty (160 kW heavy duty) with a 200 kW power module. Line current at 500 V is 303 A normal duty and 225 A heavy duty; prospective line short-circuit current withstand is 50 kA. Designed for both synchronous and asynchronous motors, with STO SIL 3 safe torque off integrated on the drive.
EMC and Noise Profile
Integrated EMC filter meets IEC 61800-3 category C3 for cable runs up to 300 m. That means this drive is intended for industrial power networks with a dedicated transformer; for residential or public low-voltage mains, an external isolation transformer or additional filtering is expected. Total harmonic distortion of input current (THDI) is under 48% at full load, compliant with IEC 61000-3-12. Switching frequency is adjustable from 2 to 4.9 kHz with derating; forced convection cooling handles the thermal load. Shock tested to 4 gn 11 ms per IEC 60068-2-23; vibration resistance is 1.5 mm at 2-13 Hz and 0.5 gn at 13-200 Hz.
Communication and I/O Slots
Two modular slots (A and B) accept fieldbus modules: Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, Modbus TCP/EtherNet/IP, CANopen (RJ45, SUB-D 9, or screw terminals), as well as digital/analog I/O extension and relay output modules. On-board communication includes Modbus serial (2-wire RS-485, RTU format, addressable 1-247) and Modbus TCP (Ethernet 10/100 Mbit/s, half/full duplex with auto-negotiation). Transmission rates: 4.8, 9.6, 19.2, 38.4 kbit/s for serial; 10/100 Mbit/s for Ethernet. Control wiring uses removable screw terminals accepting 0.5-1.5 mm² (AWG 20-16). Motor connection is via M10 x 2 bars; line side is screw terminal.
The kit includes control unit, mechanical mounting kits, power connection set of fuses, power module, and front cover. Conforms to IEC 61800-3, IEC 61800-5-1, IEC 61000-3-12, IEC 60721-3, IEC 61508, and IEC 13849-1. CE marked.
