What this ATV6A0C31Q4 is
The Schneider ATV6A0C31Q4 is a modular Altivar Process ATV600 drive, cabinet-mounted, sized for a 315 kW motor at 400 V in normal duty and 250 kW in heavy duty. It ships as a kit with one control unit, two 160 kW power modules, mechanical mounting kits, and a front cover — a ready-to-assemble high-power variable-frequency drive for pump, fan, or conveyor applications in process industries.
Motor power and line current — the numbers that size your feeder
Normal duty pulls 538 A line current at 400 V (373 kVA apparent power); heavy duty draws 432 A (299 kVA). Make sure your incoming cable, fuses, and transformer are sized for the normal-duty current if you plan to run pumps with a quadratic torque curve — that’s where the drive will spend most of its time.
Integrated EMC filter and safety functions
EMC filter is built in, suppressing conducted emissions for cable lengths up to 984.3 ft (300 m) under IEC 61800-3 category C3 — enough for most industrial environments without an external filter. The drive includes Safe Torque Off (STO) rated SIL 3, wired through dedicated STOA/STOB inputs at 24 V DC. For process safety loops, this removes the need for an external safety relay on the power stage.
Communication and I/O flexibility
Comes standard with Modbus serial (RS-485) and Modbus TCP (Ethernet) with auto-negotiation, half/full duplex. Slot A accepts optional communication modules: Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, Modbus TCP/EtherNet/IP, CANopen (RJ45, SUB-D 9, or screw terminals). The same slot accepts digital/analog I/O or output relay extension modules — pick one function per slot. Onboard I/O includes three software-configurable analog inputs (voltage or current, 12-bit), two analog outputs, six digital inputs (two of which can serve as 30 kHz pulse inputs), and three relay outputs (one fault, two sequence) with 5 ms refresh.
