Drive for the job, not the shelf
The ATV6A0C63N6 is an Altivar Process ATV600 drive sized for 450 kW at 500 V normal duty, with a line draw of 607 A (normal) or 484 A (heavy duty). That's enough headroom for a 355 kW heavy-duty motor without sweating the overload cycle. The integrated EMC filter meets Category C3 for grounded distribution up to 300 m of motor cable — one less external box on the wall, one less wiring headache at startup. Safe torque off is rated SIL 3, so you can wire a safe stop into the drive without bolting on a separate safety contactor. It covers motor and drive thermal protection, phase loss, overvoltage, undervoltage, and short circuits — all on-board. That STO alone saves panel space and a fistful of terminals.
Mounting and fieldbus—straightforward
Cabinet-mount, forced-air cooled. Switching frequency is adjustable from 2 to 4.9 kHz with derating — keep it on the low end for heavy thermal duty, nudge it up for quieter motor operation. The control module handles Modbus serial and Modbus TCP natively; slot A takes Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, CANopen, or EtherNet/IP option cards. That means you can land this drive on almost any automation backbone without swapping the base unit. Line side connection is M10 bars — expect lugging for the 500 V class. Pollution degree 2, so standard industrial environment is fine. The kit includes the power module, control unit, mechanical mounting kits, power connection set of fuses, and front cover—everything except the motor cable.
