The Schneider ATV6A0M10Q4 is an Altivar Process ATV600 drive rated for 1000 kW at 400 V normal duty and 800 kW heavy duty. It's a modular cabinet-mount unit with an integrated EMC filter compliant to IEC 61800-3 category C3 for 300 m cable runs, and STO SIL 3 safety function on board. The lifecycle status is current, so this is a live BOM line, not a last-time-buy scavenge.
Line current at 400 V is 1542 A normal duty, 1246 A heavy duty — this drives your cable sizing and upstream breaker coordination. Apparent power works out to 1175 kVA normal, 950 kVA heavy, so the drive's input transformer or generator must be sized accordingly. The integrated EMC filter is rated for 300 m of motor cable under category C3 (industrial environment, not residential). If your installation requires longer cable runs or a lower conducted emission limit (C2), you'll need an external output filter. The drive also carries STO SIL 3 per IEC 61508 / IEC 13849-1, which means it can be wired directly into a safety circuit without a separate safety relay for the torque-off function.
Supply and control wiring
Digital inputs need an external 24 V DC supply (19...30 V). The drive provides an internal 10.5 V DC reference for a 1 to 10 kOhm potentiometer, and a separate 24 V DC supply (21...27 V) for digital inputs and STO, rated <200 mA with overload and short-circuit protection. That means you can power the control logic from the drive itself for small panels, but for larger systems with many I/O points, a dedicated 24 V DC supply is still recommended to stay within the 200 mA budget. Analog inputs (AI1, AI2, AI3) are software-configurable for voltage (0...10 V DC, 30 kOhm) or current (0...20 mA / 4...20 mA, 250 Ohm), 12-bit resolution. Accuracy is ±0.6 % over a 60 °C temperature variation.
Communication and expansion
Embedded Modbus serial (2-wire RS-485, RTU frame) and Modbus TCP (Ethernet, 10/100 Mbit/s, half/full duplex with autonegotiation) are standard. Slot A accepts fieldbus option modules: Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, Modbus TCP/EtherNet/IP, or CANopen (RJ45, SUB-D 9, or screw terminals). Slots A and B also accept digital/analog I/O extension or output relay extension modules. If you need a second fieldbus or extra I/O, this drive can take it without a separate gateway.
