This ATV6A0M10Q6 is a 1000 kW normal duty / 800 kW heavy duty drive at 690 V from the Altivar Process ATV600 series, modular version. Line current sits at 969 A normal duty, 779 A heavy duty. It includes an integrated EMC filter rated for 300 m cable (C3 category), so you can avoid an external filter for most industrial installations with a separate transformer. The drive supports synchronous and asynchronous motors, with 2...4.9 kHz adjustable switching frequency – factor derating above 1 kHz if you need higher output frequency clean. Fieldbus and safety
Slot A accepts a range of communication modules: Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, Modbus TCP/EtherNet/IP, CANopen (RJ45, SUB-D 9, or screw terminal). There are also I/O and relay extension modules for Slot A/B. The drive itself has a Modbus serial port (2-wire RS 485, RTU) and an Ethernet/Modbus TCP port (10/100 Mbit/s, half/full duplex). The Safe Torque Off function protects both motor and drive from unintended restart – no external safety relay needed for the basic stop function. Thermal protection, motor phase break, overcurrent, overvoltage, and earth fault protections are all on-board.
Wiring and mounting notes
Cabinet mount only. Line side screw terminal; motor side uses M10 x 2 bars. Control wiring via removable screw terminals (0.5...1.5 mm² / AWG 20...16). Vibration resistance: 1.5 mm peak-to-peak at 2...13 Hz, 0.5 gn at 13...200 Hz. Shock resistance: 4 gn for 11 ms. Relative humidity 5...95% non-condensing. Allow adequate clearance for forced convection airflow – the fan is integral.
