Drive overview
The Schneider ATV6B0C16N6 is a modular Altivar Process ATV600 drive rated for 110 kW at 500 V normal duty, drawing 141 A line current at that condition. It handles both asynchronous and synchronous motors, with an adjustable switching frequency from 2 to 4.9 kHz. The integrated EMC filter meets category C3 per IEC 61800-3, good for up to 300 m of motor cable in typical industrial installations. The heavy-duty rating is 90 kW at 500 V with 117 A line current, so it carries the usual headroom for constant-torque loads or higher ambient conditions.
Integration and communication
The drive comes with a slot A for fieldbus option cards: Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, Modbus TCP/EtherNet/IP, and CANopen (RJ45 or SUB-D 9 or screw terminals). The base unit includes Modbus serial (2-wire RS485, RTU, up to 38.4 kbit/s) and Modbus TCP (10/100 Mbit/s) as standard. That covers most line-side connections without an extra card. For I/O expansion, slot A or slot B accepts digital/analog I/O extension modules or relay output modules. Cabinet mount, forced convection cooling. Pollution degree 2. Vibration resistance per IEC 60068-2-6: 1.5 mm peak-to-peak from 2 to 13 Hz, 0.5 gn from 13 to 200 Hz.
Safety and compliance
Safe torque off (STO) built in, rated SIL 3. Thermal protection for both motor and drive, plus short-circuit, earth fault, overvoltage/undervoltage, phase loss, and overspeed protection. Marking CE; design meets IEC 61800-3, IEC 61800-5-1, IEC 61000-3-12, IEC 60721-3, IEC 61508, and IEC 13849-1. Integrated EMC filter C3 keeps conducted emissions within limits for industrial second environment (not residential). No external filter needed for most installations.
