160 kW at 500 V — normal and heavy duty ratings
The ATV6B0C25N6 is a modular Altivar Process ATV600 drive rated 160 kW normal duty and 132 kW heavy duty at 500 V supply. The normal-duty figure governs continuous fan/pump loads; the heavy-duty figure applies to constant-torque applications like conveyors or extruders where the drive must deliver rated torque across the speed range. Line current at 500 V is 204 A normal duty, 169 A heavy duty — this sets the upstream breaker and cable sizing. Apparent power is 176 kVA normal duty, 146 kVA heavy duty, which feeds into transformer sizing and power factor correction planning.
Safety and compliance — STO SIL 3, EMC, harmonic limits
This simplifies the safety circuit design for guarding applications where the drive must remove torque on a safety demand. The integrated EMC filter meets IEC 61800-3 category C3 with 300 m motor cable — covers most industrial installations without an external filter. Total harmonic current distortion (THDI) is below 5% at full load per IEEE 519, so harmonic compliance is built in for typical plant distribution systems. Prospective line short-circuit current rating is 50 kA — the drive is rated for installation on supplies with up to 50 kA available fault current, which covers most industrial service entrances without additional current-limiting fusing upstream.
Modular construction and fieldbus options
This is the modular version — the power section and control section are separate assemblies. That means a control module swap or upgrade does not require removing the power wiring, and a power module replacement leaves the control wiring intact. The kit includes the control unit, power module, mounting kit, power connection set, fuses, and front cover. Slot A accepts communication option cards: Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, Modbus TCP/EtherNet/IP, or CANopen (daisy chain RJ45, SUB-D 9, or screw terminals). The base unit includes a 2-wire RS 485 Modbus serial port running RTU protocol at 4.8 to 38.4 kbit/s, plus a Modbus TCP/Ethernet IP port at 10/100 Mbit/s.

Cabinet mount only — UL type 1 or type 12 enclosure integration per UL 61800-5-1. Forced convection cooling with a noise level of 73 dB. Operating altitude is up to 2000 m with current derating above 1000 m; relative humidity 5-95% non-condensing per IEC 60068-2-3. Vibration resistance: 1.5 mm peak-to-peak at 2-13 Hz, 0.5 gn at 13-200 Hz per IEC 60068-2-6. Shock resistance: 4 gn for 11 ms per IEC 60068-2-27. Pollution degree 2 per IEC 61800-5-1 — suitable for typical control room or electrical room environments without conductive contamination.
