Drive fit and sourcing reality
The ATV6B0C31T6: The integrated EMC filter covers 984.3 ft (300 m) of motor cable to IEC 61800-3 category C3 — enough for most industrial runs without an external box. STO SIL 3 is onboard; no separate safety relay needed for torque-off functions. Lifecycle is current production — no EOL bulletin, no LTB pending. This is a factory-order line, quoted against an RFQ. If you're freezing a BOM this quarter, it's a clean placement.
Normal duty (350 hp) handles continuous loads like pumps or fans; heavy duty (250 hp) covers constant-torque conveyors or extruders. The line current number is the one for cable and fuse sizing — 277 A normal, 199 A heavy. SCCR on the line side is 50 kA prospective; coordinate with upstream breaker accordingly. Switching frequency is adjustable 2–4.9 kHz with derating. No forced convection rating surprise — it is all forced convection (fan-cooled). Mount inside a cabinet that can move 73 dB of noise — that's the fan at full tilt.
Fieldbus and safety integration
Slot A on the control module accepts a fleet of communication option cards: Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, Modbus TCP/EtherNet/IP, or CANopen (RJ45, SUB-D 9, or screw terminals). Slot A/B also handle digital/analog I/O or relay extension. Ethernet is 10/100 Mbit, Modbus serial RTU over 2-wire RS-485 at 4.8–38.4 kbit/s. Safe torque off (STO) is SIL 3 certified. If you need a drive-based safety category, this saves wiring a contactor.
The drive carries CE marking and complies with IEC 61800-3, -5-1, -61000-3-12, -60721-3, IEC 61508, and UL 61800-5-1. Pollution degree 2, IP rating is UL Type 1 or 12 when cabinet-mounted. Operating altitude to 2000 m (derate above 1000 m).
