Multiple option card slots (slot A, slot A/slot B) accept Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, Modbus TCP/EtherNet/IP, or CANopen, so the fieldbus interface matches whatever backbone is already in place. The safety function is STO at SIL 3, which can be wired independently of the control logic for a separate safe torque off path.
