The ATV6B0C40T4: This drive controls synchronous or asynchronous motors up to 400 kW (500 hp) in heavy duty or 600 hp normal duty at 480 V. It ships as a modular version—control unit, power module, front cover, fuses, and mounting kit—ready for cabinet integration. Multiple option card slots (slot A, slot A/slot B) accept Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, Modbus TCP/EtherNet/IP, or CANopen, so the fieldbus interface matches whatever backbone is already in place. The safety function is STO at SIL 3, which can be wired independently of the control logic for a separate safe torque off path.
Cabinet mount only—UL type 1 or type 12 within an enclosure. Forced convection cooling means plan for airflow clearance around the heat sink. Altitude derating starts above 1000 m; at 4800 m the drive still runs but with a current reduction. Vibration resistance is 1.5 mm peak-peak up to 13 Hz then 0.5 gn to 200 Hz—enough for standard industrial panels but not for direct engine mounting. Pollution degree 2 interior, so no special coating needed for typical factory environments.
Marked CE, compliant with IEC 61800-3 (EMC), IEC 61800-5-1 (safety), IEC 61000-3-12 (harmonics), IEC 61508 and IEC 13849-1 (functional safety). The integrated EMC filter meets category C3 with 300 m cable length, which covers most industrial installations but may require an external filter for category C2 if the network is residential. Prospective line short-circuit current rating is 50 kA, so the upstream protection must match.
