Where this drive is typically applied
The ATV6B0C50R4 is used to control synchronous and asynchronous motors in industrial process applications — pumping, conveying, fan arrays, and extruders where power quality and safety integration matter. The modular version separates the power module and control unit (the kit includes a 160 kW power module and a separate control unit), so a failed power stack can be swapped without touching control wiring, and vice versa. Standard cabinet-mount frame with M10 busbar connections on the motor side and screw terminals for control wiring up to 1.5 mm².
Fieldbus and communication options
Slot A accepts communication modules for PROFIBUS DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, Modbus TCP/EtherNet/IP, or CANopen (with daisy-chain RJ45, SUB-D 9, or screw terminals). Both Slot A and Slot B accept digital/analog I/O extension or output relay extension modules. The drive ships with Modbus serial (RS-485, 2-wire) and Modbus TCP/Ethernet (10/100 Mbit/s) as standard, so you can commission it on the built-in protocols immediately.
