Drive rating and integration brief
The Schneider ATV6B0C63Q6 is a modular Altivar Process ATV600 drive sized for 630 kW normal-duty or 500 kW heavy-duty loads at 690 V, with corresponding line currents of 568 A and 453 A. The output voltage matches the supply voltage, so no step-up transformer is needed for standard 690 V networks. Integrated EMC filter rated for 300 m motor cables meets IEC 61800-3 category C3, covering most CE-marked industrial installations without an add-on filter. Safe torque off (STO) is certified to SIL 3, allowing direct integration into safety circuits up to that level without external safety contactors. The drive cabinet-mounts with forced convection cooling; clearance for airflow must be factored into the enclosure design. Cooling is rated for ambient 50...60 Hz supply frequency.
This drive carries CE marking and complies with IEC 61800-3 (EMC), IEC 61800-5-1 (safety), IEC 61000-3-12 (harmonic limits), IEC 60721-3 (environmental), IEC 61508 and IEC 13849-1 (functional safety). The EMC filter is integral for category C3 environments. Lifecycle status is currently active — standard new-build procurement applies, no end-of-life notice pending. Protection functions cover thermal, overcurrent, short-circuit, earth fault, overspeed, and line supply anomalies, as well as motor phase break and thermal protection.
Fieldbus and control options
Slot A accepts communication option cards for Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, Modbus TCP/EtherNet/IP, and CANopen (RJ45, SUB-D 9, or screw terminals). Slot A/B also accepts digital/analog I/O and relay extension modules. Built-in Modbus serial is 2-wire RS-485, RTU frame, addressable 1…247 at 4.8 to 38.4 kbit/s. The Ethernet port handles 10/100 Mbit/s with half/full duplex autonegotiation for Modbus TCP. Total harmonic current distortion (THDI) is below 5% at full load per IEEE 519, reducing upstream filter requirements.
Sourcing notes
The ATV6B0C63Q6 is an active, current-production drive from Schneider. Procurement is via quote-to-order — confirm your duty point and any option cards (Slot A module, I/O extension) at RFQ to lock lead time.
