Drive capacity and duty ratings
The ATV6B0C63T4 is a modular-build Altivar Process ATV600 drive rated 900 hp (630 kW) at 480 V for normal-duty applications, 700 hp (500 kW) for heavy-duty profiles. Line current draws 862 A normal duty, 674 A heavy duty, with a prospective line short-circuit rating of 50 kA. Apparent power reaches 717 kVA at 480 V normal duty, 561 kVA heavy duty. The switching frequency is adjustable from 2 to 8 kHz, with derating factor applied above 2.5 kHz. Output voltage follows the supply voltage.
Compliance and environmental tolerance
This drive carries CE marking and complies with IEC 61800-3 (EMC), IEC 61800-5-1 (safety), IEC 61000-3-12 (harmonic limits), IEC 60721-3 (environmental conditions), IEC 61508, and IEC 13849-1 (functional safety). Pollution degree 2 per IEC 61800-5-1, shock resistance 4 g/11 ms, vibration resistance per IEC 60068-2-6. Operating altitude up to 1000 m without derating, to 4800 m with current reduction. The integrated EMC filter meets IEC 61800-3 category C3 for 300 m cable runs, suitable for second-environment (industrial) installations. STO (Safe Torque Off) function rated SIL 3 provides a hardware safety path without requiring an external safety relay for basic stop functions.
Integration and communication options
Cabinet-mount configuration, forced-convection cooling. Modular construction with separate power module, control unit, and front cover. Slot A accepts fieldbus option cards: Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, Modbus TCP/EtherNet/IP, CANopen (RJ45, SUB-D 9, or screw terminals). Slot A/B also accepts digital/analog I/O extensions and relay output modules. Built-in communications include Modbus serial (RS-485, 2-wire, RTU, 4.8 to 38.4 kbit/s, 1–247 addresses) and Modbus TCP (10/100 Mbit/s, half/full duplex, autonegotiation). The STO function is wired via a dedicated safety input – verify that the safe torque off circuit is powered separately from the control logic.
