The ATV6B0C71T4 is a modular Altivar Process ATV600 drive from Schneider Electric, rated for 1000 hp (710 kW) normal duty and 800 hp (560 kW) heavy duty at 480 V. It lands in the ATV6B0 chassis, cabinet-mounted, with forced convection cooling. Line current draws 958 A in normal duty and 771 A in heavy duty at 480 V. An integrated EMC filter meets IEC 61800-3 category C3 for cable runs up to 300 m. Current total harmonic distortion stays under 5% at full load per IEEE 519. The drive handles both synchronous and asynchronous motors, with adjustable switching frequency from 2.5 to 8 kHz (derated above 2.5 kHz). Braking to standstill via DC injection.
Protection covers motor phase break, output short-circuit, DC bus overvoltage, line undervoltage, and more. Pollution degree 2 per IEC 61800-5-1 means the drive is suitable for control rooms and clean industrial environments; not for dusty or wet locations without additional enclosure. Vibration resistance is 1.5 mm peak-to-peak at 2–13 Hz, 0.5 gn at 13–200 Hz – standard for cabinet-mounted gear. Prospective line short-circuit current (Isc) rated at 50 kA – install on a supply with available fault current up to that value without upstream fusing for SCCR.
Communication slots A accept fieldbus modules for Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, Modbus TCP/EtherNet/IP, and CANopen. The onboard Modbus serial runs RTU at 4.8–38.4 kbit/s. Ethernet port (10/100 Mbit/s) supports half/full duplex and auto-negotiation.
