Drive selection for a 37 kW motor line
The ATV930D37N4US: Rated IP21 with UL Type 1 enclosure, it's built for wall-mount installation in an industrial environment. The drive handles both asynchronous and synchronous motors and comes with an adjustable PID regulator for closed-loop process control.
Fieldbus and I/O flexibility
Communication is handled via Ethernet IP/Modbus TCP with half/full duplex and autonegotiation, plus a selection of slot-A option modules for Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, EtherCAT, or CANopen (daisy chain RJ45, SUB-D 9, or screw terminals). Slots A, B, and C accept digital/analog I/O extension modules and output relay extension modules. Slot B also supports 5/12 V digital encoder, analog encoder, or resolver encoder interface modules. Transmission rates cover 10/100 Mbits, 4.8 kbps, 9600 bit/s, and 19200 bit/s. Data format is 8 bits with configurable odd, even, or no parity. Address range is 1...247.
Mount vertically within ±10 degrees. Operating altitude is 1000...4800 m with a 1% current derating per 100 m above 1000 m. Vibration resistance is 1.5 mm peak-to-peak at 2...13 Hz and 1 gn at 13...200 Hz; shock resistance is 15 gn for 11 ms. Relative humidity range is 5...95% without condensation. Cooling air volume is 240 m³/h (63402.4 Gal/hr US). Noise level is 71.5 dB.
Carries CE marking and complies with UL 508C, IEC 61800-3, IEC 61800-5-1, IEC 61000-3-12, IEC 60721-3, IEC 61508, and IEC 13849-1. TAA BABA BAA via COTS. Maximum THDI is <48% from 80...100% load per IEC 61000-3-12.
Wiring and connection sizes
Control terminals accept 0.5...1.5 mm² (AWG 20...AWG 16) screw terminals. DC bus, line side, and motor terminals accept 35...50 mm² (AWG 3...AWG 1) screw terminals.
