Active production — 55 kW normal duty, 106 A continuous
The ATV930D55N4: Rated 55 kW normal duty and 45 kW heavy duty, it delivers 106 A continuous output at 2.5 kHz switching frequency — the heavy-duty figure governs applications like crushers and conveyors where the motor runs at or near full rated current continuously. The 380-480 V three-phase input matches standard 480 V plant distribution without a step-down transformer.
Compliance stack — UL 508C, IEC 61800-3, IEC 61508
Certified to UL 508C for North American power conversion equipment and IEC 61800-3 for adjustable-speed drive EMC — the integrated EMC filter covers conducted emissions for most industrial environments without an external add-on. Functional safety compliance to IEC 61508 and IEC 13849-1 supports SIL-rated safe torque off (STO) integration into safety circuits — the STO supply is a separate 24 V DC input (21-27 V), keeping the safety chain isolated from the control logic. THDI below 48 % from 80-100 % load meets IEC 61000-3-12 harmonic limits, avoiding the need for a line reactor on most utility feeds.
Built-in braking chopper and multi-protocol networking
The standard variant includes a braking chopper — for pump deceleration or conveyor stops, this handles regenerative energy without a separate brake module, saving panel space and wiring. EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, and Modbus serial are onboard; Slot A accepts Profibus DP, PROFINET, DeviceNet, EtherCAT, or CANopen option cards, so the drive fits into existing control architectures without a gateway. The adjustable PID regulator runs process loops (pressure, flow, level) directly in the drive — no external controller needed for single-loop applications.
Wall-mount enclosed design with IP21 / UL Type 1 protection — suitable for indoor, clean, non-washdown environments; the 68.3 dB noise level may require enclosure or remote mounting in quiet areas. Operating altitude up to 1000 m without derating; above that, derate output current 1 % per 100 m — a 1500 m installation loses 5 % of the rated current. Line and motor terminals accept 70-120 mm² (AWG 1/0-250 kcmil) — sized for the 106 A output without adapter lugs.
