The Schneider ATV930D55N4ZU is an Altivar Process ATV900 variable speed drive sized for 55 kW normal duty or 45 kW heavy duty on a 380-480 V 3-phase supply. It delivers 106 A continuous at 2.5 kHz in normal duty, 88 A in heavy duty. Built-in braking chopper, integrated EMC filter, and a full set of fieldbus options (EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, Modbus serial, plus slot-based Profibus DP, PROFINET, DeviceNet, EtherCAT, CANopen, and Ethernet Powerlink).
The 55 kW normal duty / 45 kW heavy duty split is the key sizing decision. Normal duty covers variable-torque loads like fans and pumps; heavy duty handles constant-torque or high-starting-torque applications such as conveyors or extruders. The 106 A nominal output current is the headline number, but the continuous output current at switching frequency tells the real story: 106 A at 2.5 kHz for normal duty, 88 A at 2.5 kHz for heavy duty. If your application needs a higher carrier frequency for quieter motor operation, expect derating beyond those figures. The drive accepts 380-480 V 3-phase input and includes an integrated EMC filter (with an optional EMC plate for stricter emissions). The IP21 enclosure and UL type 12 rating mean it's protected against dust and dripping water — fine for a clean control room, but not for washdown areas.
