The ATV950D45N4E variable speed drive from the Altivar Process ATV900 series is rated 45 kW for normal duty and 37 kW for heavy duty, with a continuous output current of 88 A at 4 kHz. The 88 A figure governs feeder cable sizing and thermal margin for sustained motor loads. The drive accepts 380-480 V three-phase and is IP55 enclosed for washdown or dusty environments.
Mounting and installation constraints
Mounts wall-vertical within ±10°. Terminal capacity on motor and line side is 35-50 mm² screw terminals. Expect current derating of 1% per 100 m above 1000 m altitude. Vibration resistance 1.5 mm at 2–13 Hz, 1 gn at 13–200 Hz. Shock resistance 15 gn for 11 ms.
Fieldbus and control interfaces
Embedded protocols include EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, and Modbus serial. Slot A accepts optional communication modules for Profibus DP, PROFINET, DeviceNet, EtherCAT, CANopen, or Ethernet Powerlink. Digital inputs accept 24 V DC supply (19–30 V external or 21–27 V internal for STO). Internal 10.5 V DC supply for external reference potentiometer (1–10 kOhm).
