The ATV980C20T4X1 is a regenerative variable speed drive from the Altivar Process ATV900 family, rated for 220/180 kW on a 480 V three-phase supply. It ships as a floor-standing compact enclosure with the line choke, dv/dt filter, main switch, and graphical operating panel already integrated — a near turnkey package for motor control centers or standalone installations. Supply voltage is 480 V ±10 % at 50/60 Hz ±5 %. The drive handles both asynchronous and synchronous motors. Communication is onboard via Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, and Modbus serial — no extra option card needed for most PLC integrations. The IP23 enclosure (IEC 61800-5-1) allows indoor installation in clean environments; forced convection cooling keeps the cabinet free of fan filter maintenance.
Operating temperature range is 0 to 40 °C without derating, with derating required from 40 to 50 °C. Below 0 °C an optional enclosure heater is needed. Storage temperature spans -25 to 70 °C. Altitude derating starts at 1000 m: 1 % current derating per 100 m up to 2000 m, then continues to 3800 m for TT, TN, and IT earthing systems, and further to 4800 m for TT and TN. Pollution degree 2 per IEC 61800-5-1 and overvoltage category III apply. Vibration resistance is 1.5 mm peak-to-peak at 3–20 Hz and 0.6 gn at 10–200 Hz (IEC 60068-2-6, class 3M3). Shock resistance is 4 gn for 11 ms (IEC 60068-2-27, class 3M2). Mount vertically within ±10°. Environmental classes: chemical pollution resistance 3C3, dust pollution resistance 3S3, humidity resistance 3K3 per IEC 60721-3-3. Relative humidity 5–95 % without condensation (IEC 60068-2-3).

EMC immunity levels are specified per IEC 61000-4-2 (ESD level 3), IEC 61000-4-3 (radiated RF level 3), IEC 61000-4-4 (fast transient level 4), IEC 61000-4-5 (surge level 3), and IEC 61000-4-6 (conducted RF level 3).
