The ATV980C25Q4X1 is a regenerative variable speed drive from the Altivar Process ATV900 family, designed to handle motor loads in the 250 to 200 kW range on a 380-415 V three-phase supply. It comes in a floor-standing compact enclosure with IP23 protection, ready for panel installation with the main switch, line choke, dv/dt filter, and graphical operating panel already fitted. Communication is built in with Modbus TCP, Modbus serial, and EtherNet/IP, so it talks directly to a PLC without an extra gateway card.
The supply voltage window is 380-415 V -10...6 %, which covers the common 400 V industrial grid but watch the low end — a weak 380 V line at -10 % is 342 V, and the drive won't hold regulation below that. Harmonic distortion is guaranteed under 5 % THDI at full load per IEEE 519, so you can skip the external harmonic filter for most utility compliance checks. The IP23 enclosure means it's splash-proof but not hose-down; fine for a dry electrical room, not for washdown areas. Cooling is forced convection, so keep the intake clear — stacking another enclosure tight against the side will choke it.
Integration notes
The enclosure is a Spacial SF cabinet, light grey RAL 7035, with the graphical terminal mounted in the door. It ships with the main switch, line choke, dv/dt filter, and terminal blocks for both supply and motor — so you're not chasing loose accessories. Mount it vertical within ±10°, and if you're above 1000 m altitude, derate current 1 % per 100 m up to 4800 m. Operating temperature range is 0-40 °C without derating, 40-50 °C with derating. For cold starts below 0 °C, an enclosure heating option is available. Vibration resistance is 3M3 per IEC 60721-3-3, and shock resistance is 4 gn for 11 ms — rugged enough for most industrial floors.
