The ATV980C45T4X1 is a regenerative variable speed drive from the Altivar Process ATV900 family, built as a compact floor-standing enclosure with IP23 protection. It's rated for 480 V three-phase supply, delivering regenerative capability for asynchronous and synchronous motors — meaning it can return braking energy to the line, not just dump it as heat. The CE marking and compliance with IEC 60204-1, IEC 61800-5-1, IEC 61800-3, and IEC 61800-2 confirm it meets European machinery and drive standards out of the box.

Supply frequency is 50...60 Hz ±5%, so it works on either 50 or 60 Hz mains without adjustment. The 480 V ±10% supply voltage covers common 400 V and 480 V grids. Operating temperature range is 0...40 °C without derating, and 40...50 °C with derating — plan for that if your panel runs hot. Altitude derating starts at 1000 m: 1 % per 100 m up to 2000 m, then continues with the same rate for TT, TN, and IT earthing systems up to 4800 m.
