The Schneider Electric ATV9A0C11N6 is a current-production modular drive from the Altivar Process ATV900 family. It delivers 75 kW (normal duty) or 55 kW (heavy duty) at 500 V, drawing 110 A or 83 A line current respectively. That normal duty rating maps to constant-torque loads like conveyors and mixers; the heavy-duty rating covers variable-torque pumps and fans. Apparent power is 95 kVA normal, 72 kVA heavy. Switching frequency is adjustable from 2 to 4.9 kHz, with derating at the high end — keep that in mind if you need near-silent operation but can't sacrifice output current. Prospective line Isc is 50 kA, so the drive holds its own in high-fault-current panels.
Controls, safety, and fieldbus
Safe Torque Off (STO) comes standard with SIL 3 capability, satisfying Category 3 PL e per IEC 13849-1. That means no external safety contactor for stop functions — one less component in the cabinet and one less wiring step. The drive also includes thermal protection for both motor and drive, plus phase loss and overspeed detection on the control circuit. Communication is flexible: the base drive ships with Modbus TCP slave and Modbus serial (RTU/ASCII) onboard. Slot A accepts a Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, EtherCAT, or CANopen card; Slot B and Slot C handle encoder interfaces (digital, analog, resolver) and I/O or relay extension modules. That means you can match the plant network without buying a different drive SKU. Internal supply rails are provided: 24 V DC for digital inputs and STO (21–27 V), and a 10.5 V DC ±5 % reference for a 1–10 kΩ potentiometer. The digital input supply can be fed from an external 24 V source (19–30 V) if you prefer to offload the control transformer.
Mounting, cooling, and environmental
Cabinet mount only — IP00 module intended for IP21 or IP54 enclosures. Cooling is forced convection, so plan for adequate airflow around the heatsink. Operating altitude to 2000 m with current derating above 1000 m; pollution degree 2. Vibration resistance is 0.5 gn from 13 to 200 Hz, 1.5 mm peak-to-peak from 2 to 13 Hz. Those numbers are friendly for standard panel mounting on a backplate. Line side uses M10 bolts; motor connections are M10 bars. Control wiring lands on removable screw terminals accepting 0.5–1.5 mm² (AWG 20–16). The integrated EMC filter is rated for up to 300 m of motor cable at C3 category — enough for most distributed drives without an external output choke.
