The Schneider Electric ATV9A0C16R4 is a modular Altivar Process ATV900 drive rated for 160 kW at 440 V normal duty and 132 kW heavy duty, with corresponding line currents of 255 A and 214 A. It handles synchronous and asynchronous motors and includes an integrated EMC filter compliant with IEC 61800-3 category C3 for cable runs up to 300 m.
Duty ratings and motor sizing
Normal duty delivers 160 kW at 440 V with 255 A line current; heavy duty drops to 132 kW at 214 A. The apparent power at 440 V is 194 kVA normal duty and 163 kVA heavy duty. Switching frequency is adjustable from 2.5 to 8 kHz with derating above 2.5 kHz.
Safety and compliance
STO (Safe Torque Off) rated SIL 3 is built in. The drive meets IEC 61800-3, IEC 61800-5-1, IEC 61508, and IEC 13849-1. Pollution degree 2 per IEC 61800-5-1. CE marked.
Communication and option slots
Slave Modbus TCP via dual RJ45 on the control block, plus one RJ45 for Modbus serial. Three option slots (A, B, C) accept Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, EtherCAT, CANopen, digital/analog I/O, relay, and encoder interface modules. Modbus serial runs RTU at 4.8 to 38.4 kbit/s on 2-wire RS-485.
Cabinet mount, IP00 (requires IP21 or IP54 enclosure). Forced convection cooling. Operating altitude up to 4800 m with derating above 1000 m. Ambient humidity 5–95% non-condensing. Vibration resistance 1.5 mm pk-pk at 2–13 Hz, 0.5 gn at 13–200 Hz. Shock 7 gn for 11 ms.
