Drive ratings and duty selection
The Schneider ATV9A0C20Q4 is a modular Altivar Process ATV900 drive rated 200 kW at 400 V normal duty and 160 kW at 400 V heavy duty. Line current draws 352 A under normal duty, 290 A under heavy duty. Apparent power is 244 kVA normal duty, 201 kVA heavy duty. The heavy-duty figure governs continuous motor overload capability — size the drive to the motor's full-load amps and the application's overload profile, not the ND number.
Safety and EMC
The integrated EMC filter is rated for 300 m of motor cable in C3 environments per IEC 61800-3. For longer cable runs or C2 compliance, an external output filter is needed.
Switching frequency and derating
Switching frequency adjustable from 2 to 8 kHz, with derating above 2.5 kHz. Higher switching reduces audible noise (rated 70 dB) but increases drive losses — the 2.5 kHz default is the thermal baseline; expect current derating if you push to 8 kHz.
Option card slots and fieldbus
Three slots (A, B, C) accept communication modules for Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, EtherCAT, CANopen, plus digital/analog I/O and relay extensions. Slot A also takes encoder interface modules (digital 5/12 V, analog, resolver). The control block includes dual RJ45 for Ethernet IP/Modbus TCP and one RJ45 for Modbus serial (RS-485, 2-wire, RTU).
Cabinet mount, IP00 (requires IP21 or IP54 enclosure). Operates at 0 to 4800 m with current derating above 1000 m. Ambient humidity 5 to 95% non-condensing. Shock rated 7 gn for 11 ms; vibration 1.5 mm peak-to-peak at 2–13 Hz, 0.5 gn at 13–200 Hz.
