250 kW process drive, modular build
The ATV9A0C25R4 is a modular Altivar Process ATV900 AC drive rated 250 kW at 440 V in normal duty, with a line current of 396 A at 440 V. Heavy-duty rating is 200 kW at 440 V, pulling 325 A — the duty selection governs the thermal capacity for the application.
Safety and standards backbone
CE marked, with EMC filter integrated for 300 m cable runs compliant to IEC 61800-3 category C3. The prospective line Isc is 50 kA — coordinate upstream protection to clear faults within this SCCR ceiling.
Fieldbus and I/O expansion slots
Three option slots (A, B, C) accept communication modules for Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, EtherCAT, or CANopen, plus digital/analog I/O and relay extension cards. Slot B also supports encoder interfaces (digital 5/12 V, analog, resolver). Native Ethernet IP/Modbus TCP on two RJ45 ports at 10/100 Mbit/s, plus a separate Modbus serial port (RS 485, 2-wire) running at 4.8 to 38.4 kbit/s. The control block handles both fieldbus and serial simultaneously for multi-network topologies.
Cabinet integration and cooling
IP00 rating — the drive is designed for cabinet mounting (IP21 or IP54 enclosure). Forced convection cooling; the switching frequency is adjustable from 2 to 8 kHz, with derating above 2.5 kHz. Noise level is 70 dB. Line-side connection via screw terminals; motor connection on M10 bars. Operating altitude up to 4800 m with derating above 1000 m. Pollution degree 2 per IEC 61800-5-1 — standard for controlled industrial environments.
