The Schneider Electric ATV9A0C40T4 is an Altivar Process ATV900 modular drive rated for 600 hp at 480 V normal duty and 500 hp at 480 V heavy duty, with a corresponding line current of 634 A normal / 536 A heavy duty. It ships as a kit: control unit, power module (160 kW), front covers, power connection set, and fuses.
Supply and control architecture
The drive requires an external 24 V DC supply (19...30 V) for digital inputs, and provides a 10.5 V DC ±5 % internal reference for a 1 to 10 kΩ potentiometer. A separate 24 V DC supply (21...27 V) powers the digital inputs and STO circuit. Insulation resistance is 1 MΩ at 500 V DC for 1 minute to earth. Onboard communication includes two RJ45 ports for EtherNet/IP or Modbus TCP, plus one RJ45 for Modbus serial (RS-485, 2-wire, RTU frame). Transmission rates are 10/100 Mbit/s for Ethernet and 4.8 to 38.4 kbit/s for serial. The drive supports Modbus TCP slave addressing. Three option card slots (A, B, C) accept communication modules (Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, EtherCAT, CANopen), digital/analog I/O extension, output relay extension, and encoder interface modules (digital 5/12 V, analog, resolver).
Safety and protection
Safe Torque Off (STO) is integrated to SIL 3, covering both motor and drive thermal protection, phase loss, overcurrent to earth, short-circuit, DC bus overvoltage, line supply over/undervoltage, phase loss, overspeed, and control circuit break. Motor thermal protection and phase break are also included.
