Control power and safety circuit
The control section needs an external 24 V DC supply (19...30 V) for digital inputs, plus an internal 24 V DC (21...27 V) rail for digital inputs and the Safe Torque Off (STO) function, which is rated SIL 3. There is also a 10.5 V DC ±5 % reference supply for a 1 to 10 kΩ potentiometer. The STO circuit is separate from the main DC bus — if you are wiring a safety relay or PLC safety output, land it on the STO terminals, not the general-purpose digital inputs.
EMC and compliance — what is built in
An integrated EMC filter meets IEC 61800-3 category C3 for 300 m of motor cable — enough for most industrial installations without an external filter. The drive carries CE marking and complies with IEC 61800-5-1 (safety), IEC 61508 and IEC 13849-1 (functional safety), plus IEC 61000-3-12 (harmonic limits) and IEC 60721-3 (environmental). Pollution degree 2 applies, so it is suited for a clean, dry cabinet environment. The IP00 chassis requires enclosure integration to reach IP21 or IP54.
Fieldbus and I/O expansion
The control block has two RJ45 ports for Ethernet IP/Modbus TCP and one RJ45 for Modbus serial (RS-485, 2-wire, RTU). Transmission rates are 10/100 Mbit/s on Ethernet and 4.8 to 38.4 kbit/s on serial. Slot A accepts communication option cards for Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, EtherCAT, or CANopen (RJ45, SUB-D 9, or screw terminals). Slots A, B, and C also accept digital/analog I/O extension modules and encoder interfaces (digital 5/12 V, analog, resolver). If you need a second fieldbus or additional encoder feedback, plan the option card slot allocation before panel layout.
