Drive ratings and duty selection
The Schneider ATV9A0C56T4 is an Altivar Process ATV900 modular drive rated for 800 hp at 480 V normal duty and 650 hp at 480 V heavy duty, with corresponding line currents of 842 A and 690 A. Apparent power reaches 700 kVA at 480 V normal duty, 574 kVA heavy duty.
Supply and control architecture
Digital inputs and STO require a 24 V DC supply (21...27 V); a separate 24 V DC (19...30 V) feeds the digital input bank. An internal 10.5 V DC ±5% reference supplies a 1 to 10 kΩ potentiometer. Insulation resistance is 1 MΩ at 500 V DC for 1 minute to earth.
Safety and compliance
Safe Torque Off (STO) is integrated to SIL 3. The drive complies with IEC 61800-3, IEC 61800-5-1, IEC 61000-3-12, IEC 60721-3, IEC 61508, and IEC 13849-1. The integrated EMC filter meets IEC 61800-3 category C3 for cable runs up to 300 m. Marking is CE.
Fieldbus and option slots
Slot A accepts Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, EtherCAT, or CANopen (RJ45, SUB-D 9, or screw terminals). Slots A/B/C accept digital/analog I/O extension and relay modules. Slot B accepts 5/12 V digital encoder, analog encoder, or resolver interface. Built-in Modbus serial (RTU, 2-wire RS-485, 4.8 to 38.4 kbit/s) and dual Ethernet IP/Modbus TCP ports (10/100 Mbit/s).
Switching frequency and motor compatibility
Switching frequency is adjustable from 2 to 8 kHz, with derating above 2.5 kHz. The drive handles both synchronous and asynchronous motors.
