Drive ratings and supply architecture
The Schneider ATV9A0C63T4 is an Altivar Process ATV900 modular drive rated for 900 hp at 480 V normal duty and 700 hp at 480 V heavy duty, with corresponding line currents of 939 A and 740 A. The control supply requires an external 24 V DC source (19...30 V) for digital inputs, and provides an internal 10.5 V DC ±5 % reference for a 1 to 10 kΩ potentiometer. A separate internal 24 V DC supply (21...27 V) powers the digital inputs and the Safe Torque Off (STO) function, which is certified SIL 3.
Communication and option slots
The drive supports multiple fieldbuses via slot A communication modules: Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, EtherCAT, and CANopen (RJ45, SUB-D 9, or screw terminals). Slot A, slot B, and slot C accept digital/analog I/O extension modules and output relay extensions. Slot B also accepts 5/12 V digital encoder, analog encoder, or resolver interface modules. The control block includes two RJ45 ports for Ethernet IP/Modbus TCP (10/100 Mbit/s, half/full duplex, autonegotiation) and one RJ45 for Modbus serial (4.8 to 38.4 kbit/s, RTU frame, 2-wire RS 485, up to 247 addresses).
Switching frequency and derating conditions
Switching frequency is adjustable from 2 to 8 kHz, with a derating factor applied above 2.5 kHz. The drive is rated for operation up to 4800 m altitude with current derating above 1000 m. The integrated EMC filter meets IEC 61800-3 category C3 for cable lengths up to 300 m. Prospective line short-circuit current (Isc) is 50 kA.
