The Schneider ATV9A0C71T4 is an Altivar Process ATV900 modular variable frequency drive rated for 1000 hp normal duty or 800 hp heavy duty at 480 V, with a corresponding line current of 1044 A normal duty and 846 A heavy duty. It handles both synchronous and asynchronous motors, with an adjustable switching frequency from 2 to 8 kHz (derated above 2.5 kHz).
Control supply and wiring
The control block requires an external 24 V DC supply (19...30 V) for digital inputs, plus an internal 24 V DC (21...27 V) supply for digital inputs and STO. A separate 10.5 V DC ±5 % reference is provided for a 1 to 10 kΩ potentiometer. The control wiring uses removable screw terminals accepting 0.5...1.5 mm² (AWG 20...16).
Communications and option slots
Dual RJ45 ports on the control block support Ethernet IP/Modbus TCP at 10/100 Mbit/s, plus one RJ45 for Modbus serial (RS-485, 2-wire) at 4.8 to 38.4 kbit/s. Three option card slots (A, B, C) accept Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, EtherCAT, CANopen, digital/analog I/O extension, relay extension, and encoder interfaces (digital 5/12 V, analog, or resolver).
Safety and compliance
The drive complies with IEC 61800-3, IEC 61800-5-1, IEC 61000-3-12, IEC 60721-3, and carries CE marking. The integrated EMC filter meets IEC 61800-3 category C3 for 300 m cable runs. Pollution degree 2, vibration and shock per IEC 60068-2-6 and IEC 60068-2-27.
