What the ratings tell you
The ATV9A0C80N6: Line current is 756 A normal duty, 610 A heavy duty at 500 V – so the heavy-duty number is your continuous thermal limit when the motor is fully loaded. Apparent power comes in at 655 kVA normal, 528 kVA heavy. The switching frequency is adjustable from 2 to 4.9 kHz, but every kHz above 2 pulls a derating factor, so plan your motor cable length and heat sink accordingly. Total harmonic current distortion stays below 48 % from 80 to 100 % load – that's good for grid compliance without extra line reactors in most industrial sites.
Compliance & integration
CE marked, meets IEC 61800-3 (EMC), IEC 61800-5-1 (safety), IEC 61508 and ISO 13849-1 for functional safety. The enclosure can be configured as UL Type 1 or Type 12 (cabinet integration). Mounting is cabinet-mount, forced convection cooling. Control connections use removable screw terminals (0.5–1.5 mm²), line and motor connections are M10 bars. Slot A/B/C accept communication or I/O extension modules – Profibus, PROFINET, EtherCAT, CANopen, DeviceNet, or digital/analog/relay expansions.
