The Schneider ATV9A0M10R4 is a modular Altivar Process ATV900 drive rated for 1000 kW at 440 V in normal duty and 800 kW in heavy duty, making it a high-power variable-frequency drive for synchronous and asynchronous motors. It carries a CE marking and complies with IEC 61800-3, IEC 61800-5-1, IEC 61000-3-12, IEC 60721-3, IEC 61508, and IEC 13849-1. The integrated EMC filter meets category C3 for cable runs up to 300 m.
The 1000 kW normal-duty / 800 kW heavy-duty split is the headline: normal duty covers constant-torque loads like conveyors and pumps at 440 V, while heavy duty handles higher overloads for crushers or extruders. Line current at 440 V is 1542 A normal duty, 1246 A heavy duty, with apparent power of 1175 kVA and 950 kVA respectively. The prospective line short-circuit current is rated at 50 kA, so the drive can be installed on a stiff supply without external current-limiting reactors. Switching frequency is adjustable from 2.5 to 8 kHz, with derating above 2 kHz. The drive includes STO (Safe Torque Off) rated SIL 3 per IEC 61508, which is the safety function you need for a Category 3 / PL e stop circuit without a separate safety relay.
Supply and control wiring
Digital inputs need an external 24 V DC supply (19...30 V). There's also an internal 24 V DC supply (21...27 V) for digital inputs and STO, plus a 10.5 V DC reference for a 1 to 10 kOhm potentiometer. Line-side connection is via screw terminals; motor connection uses M10 x 2 bars.
Communication and options
The drive ships with dual RJ45 ports for Ethernet IP / Modbus TCP (10/100 Mbit/s, half/full duplex with auto-negotiation) and one RJ45 for Modbus serial (RTU, 4.8 to 38.4 kbit/s, 2-wire RS-485). Slot A accepts fieldbus option modules for Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, CANopen, or EtherCAT. Slots A/B/C also accept digital/analog I/O or output relay extension modules. Slot B can take a 5/12 V digital encoder, analog encoder, or resolver interface.
