110 kW normal duty, 90 kW heavy duty — the duty-cycle split
The ATV9B0C11R4 is a modular Altivar Process ATV900 drive rated 110 kW at 440 V in normal duty and 90 kW at 440 V in heavy duty, with corresponding line currents of 159 A and 132 A at 440 V. The heavy-duty rating governs continuous overload capability for high-start-torque loads like conveyors or crushers; the normal-duty figure applies to variable-torque applications such as fans and pumps. Regenerative-mode ratings are also specified: 110 kW normal duty and 90 kW heavy duty at 440 V, with line currents of 131 A and 106 A respectively. This matters for applications that decelerate frequently — the drive can return energy to the line without an external braking resistor.
Safety function and control supply
The control supply includes a dedicated 24 V DC (21...27 V) rail for digital inputs and STO, plus a 10.5 V DC reference for an external potentiometer. The drive ships as a kit: control unit, mechanical mounting hardware, power connection set, fuses, a 160 kW power module, and a front cover. Cabinet-mount only — IP00 rating means the enclosure must provide the IP21 or IP54 protection.
Fieldbus and option slots
Three option slots (A, B, C) accept communication modules for Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, CANopen, EtherCAT, or digital/analog I/O and relay extensions. Slot B also supports encoder interfaces (5/12 V digital, analog, resolver). Native Ethernet IP/Modbus TCP via dual RJ45 ports, plus a separate RJ45 for Modbus serial at 4.8–38.4 kbit/s. The integrated EMC filter meets IEC 61800-3 category C3 with 300 m of motor cable.
