The ATV9B0C16R4: Motor power is 160 kW normal duty, 132 kW heavy duty at 440 V. Line current at 440 V is 229 A normal duty, 190 A heavy duty — size your input conductors and fusing for the higher figure unless the load profile is strictly heavy duty. Switching frequency is adjustable from 2 to 8 kHz, with derating above 2.5 kHz. If you need to run a long motor cable or reduce audible noise at 8 kHz, expect to derate output current — the drive's thermal model accounts for it, but your motor full-load amps must stay within the derated curve. The integrated EMC filter meets IEC 61800-3 category C3 with 300 m of motor cable. That covers most industrial installations inside a building; for residential or first-environment runs you'll need an external filter. STO (safe torque off) is rated SIL 3 per IEC 61508 and IEC 13849-1, so it can be used in a safety function up to PL e / SIL 3 without an external safety relay — just wire the STO inputs and confirm the control circuit supplies (24 V DC, 21...27 V for STO).
Fieldbus and I/O options
The drive ships with two RJ45 ports for Ethernet IP / Modbus TCP and one RJ45 for Modbus serial (RS-485, 2-wire, RTU). Slot A accepts plug-in communication modules for Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, CANopen (daisy chain RJ45, SUB-D 9, or screw terminals), or EtherCAT. Slots A, B, and C can take digital/analog I/O extension or output relay modules. Slot B also accepts 5/12 V digital encoder, analog encoder, or resolver interface modules. That means you can match fieldbus to your existing controller without swapping the base drive.
