The Schneider ATV9B0C40Q4 is an Altivar Process ATV900 modular drive sized for 400 kW at 400 V normal duty or 315 kW heavy duty, pulling 620 A line current in normal duty and 491 A in heavy duty. It handles both asynchronous and synchronous motors, with an integrated EMC filter rated for 300 m cable run to C3 category. Switching frequency is adjustable from 2 to 8 kHz, with derating above 2.5 kHz. The drive includes Safe Torque Off (STO) rated to SIL 3, and thermal, overcurrent, short-circuit, and phase-loss protections on both motor and drive sides.
Slot map and I/O
Three option slots (A, B, C) accept communication modules for Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, CANopen, or EtherCAT, plus digital/analog I/O or relay extension modules. Slot B also accepts encoder interfaces (digital 5/12 V, analog, or resolver). Built-in Ethernet IP/Modbus TCP on two RJ45 ports, plus one RJ45 for Modbus serial (RS-485, 2-wire, RTU frame, 4.8 to 38.4 kbit/s).
Supply and control power
Digital inputs need an external 24 V DC supply (19...30 V). The drive provides an internal 24 V DC (21...27 V) supply for digital inputs and STO, plus a 10.5 V DC reference for a 1 to 10 kOhm potentiometer. Line supply is three-phase, 50/60 Hz ±5%.
