Power ratings and duty selection
The ATV9B0C50Q4 delivers 500 kW normal duty at 400 V with 537 kVA apparent power, and 400 kW heavy duty at 429 kVA. Line current at 400 V is 775 A for normal duty, 620 A for heavy duty. The heavy-duty rating governs continuous operation in high-torque loads like conveyors or extruders — the normal-duty figure applies when the drive runs below its thermal limit most of the cycle. Safety and fieldbus integration
This means the drive can be used in safety circuits up to SIL 3 without an external safety relay on the power stage — the STO function removes the motor torque independently of the control logic. The control circuit supply for STO and digital inputs is 24 V DC (21...27 V) from the internal supply. Three option slots (A, B, C) accept communication modules for Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, CANopen, EtherCAT, and digital/analog I/O or relay extension modules. Slot B also supports encoder interfaces (5/12 V digital, analog, resolver). The drive ships with dual RJ45 for Ethernet IP/Modbus TCP and one RJ45 for Modbus serial at 10/100 Mbit/s.

The integrated EMC filter meets IEC 61800-3 category C3 with 300 m of motor cable — suitable for industrial environments with a dedicated transformer or TN system, but not for residential mains without additional filtering. Switching frequency is adjustable 2.5...8 kHz with a derating factor — raising the carrier quiets the motor but reduces continuous output current.
