The Schneider Electric ATV9B0C50R4 is a modular cabinet-mount drive from the Altivar Process ATV900 range, rated for 500 kW at 440 V normal duty and 400 kW heavy duty, with a line current of 704 A normal duty and 563 A heavy duty. It carries STO (safe torque off) SIL 3 as a standard safety function and includes an integrated EMC filter compliant with IEC 61800-3 category C3 for cable runs up to 300 m.
Fieldbus and I/O flexibility
Three option slots (A, B, C) accept communication modules for Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, CANopen (daisy chain RJ45, SUB-D 9, or screw terminals), and EtherCAT. Slot A also handles digital/analog I/O extension or output relay modules; slot B accepts 5/12 V digital encoder or analog encoder or resolver interface modules. The base unit includes dual RJ45 for Ethernet IP/Modbus TCP at 10/100 Mbit/s and one RJ45 for Modbus serial at 4.8 to 38.4 kbit/s, 2-wire RS-485, RTU frame, 1 to 247 addresses.
Power and motor control
Switching frequency is adjustable from 2 to 8 kHz with derating. Motor slip compensation is automatic and adjustable, not available in permanent magnet motor law. The drive handles both synchronous and asynchronous motors. Apparent power at 440 V normal duty is 537 kVA; heavy duty 429 kVA. Total harmonic current distortion (THDI) is under 5% at full load per IEEE 519.
Cabinet mount, IP00 (for IP21 or IP54 cabinet integration). Forced convection cooling. Operating altitude 0 to 4800 m with derating above 1000 m. Ambient relative humidity 5 to 95% non-condensing.
