630 kW at 690 V — normal-duty rating sets the feeder size
The ATV9B0C63Q6 is a modular Altivar Process ATV900 drive rated 630 kW at 690 V in normal duty, 500 kW in heavy duty. That 630 kW figure drives the line current of 568 A at 690 V normal duty, which is what you size the input feeder and transformer for. Heavy duty drops to 453 A — useful when the load profile includes sustained overloads. Apparent power follows: 678 kVA normal duty, 541 kVA heavy duty.
STO SIL 3 and integrated EMC filter — two time-savers in the panel
That removes the need for a separate safety relay or contactor on the motor circuit for most guarding applications — the drive itself kills torque on a safety demand. The STO supply is 24 V DC (21...27 V) from the internal supply, so no extra 24 V rail needed for that function. The integrated EMC filter meets IEC 61800-3 Category C3 for cable runs up to 300 m. That covers most industrial installations without an external filter box — one less component to mount and wire. The drive itself is IP00, intended for cabinet integration into an IP21 or IP54 enclosure.
Fieldbus and I/O expansion — three option slots
Three option slots (A, B, C) accept communication modules for Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, CANopen, EtherCAT, plus digital/analog I/O extension and encoder interfaces (digital 5/12 V, analog, resolver). The base unit includes dual RJ45 Ethernet IP/Modbus TCP and one RJ45 Modbus serial port. Modbus serial runs at 4.8 to 38.4 kbit/s, RTU frame, 2-wire RS-485, up to 247 addresses. Ethernet ports run at 10/100 Mbit/s. That covers both legacy fieldbus and modern industrial Ethernet without a gateway.
