The Schneider Electric ATV9B0C63T4 is a modular Altivar Process ATV900 drive rated for 900 hp at 480 V normal duty and 700 hp at 480 V heavy duty, with corresponding line currents of 862 A and 674 A. It handles synchronous and asynchronous motors, and the integrated EMC filter meets IEC 61800-3 category C3 for 300 m cable runs.
Power and protection
Apparent power reaches 717 kVA at 480 V normal duty, 561 kVA heavy duty. The drive includes thermal protection for both motor and drive, safe torque off (STO) rated SIL 3, plus protection against overcurrent, short-circuit, phase loss, DC bus overvoltage, line supply undervoltage, overspeed, and control circuit break. Total harmonic current distortion stays under 5% at full load per IEEE 519.
Supply and control architecture
Digital inputs and STO require a 24 V DC supply (21...27 V). A separate 24 V DC supply (19...30 V) feeds the digital inputs, and the internal reference potentiometer supply is 10.5 V DC ±5% for 1 to 10 kΩ pots. Communication options include Modbus serial (RTU, 2-wire RS-485, 4.8 to 38.4 kbit/s) and dual RJ45 for Ethernet IP/Modbus TCP at 10/100 Mbit/s. Slot A accepts Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, CANopen, or EtherCAT modules; slots B and C handle encoder interfaces and I/O or relay extension modules.
Cabinet-mount design with IP00 rating for integration into IP21 or IP54 enclosures. UL Type 1 or Type 12 when cabinet-integrated per UL 61800-5-1. Forced convection cooling. Operates at 50/60 Hz ±5%, altitude up to 4800 m with derating above 1000 m, 5–95% relative humidity non-condensing. Vibration resistance 1.5 mm peak-to-peak at 2–13 Hz, 0.5 gn at 13–200 Hz; shock 4 gn for 11 ms. Pollution degree 2.
