The ATV9B0C71R4 is a modular cabinet-mount drive from the Altivar Process ATV900 family, rated for 710 kW at 440 V normal duty (560 kW heavy duty) with a corresponding line current of 995 A normal duty (789 A heavy duty). It supports both synchronous and asynchronous motors, and the switching frequency is adjustable from 2.5 to 8 kHz with derating.

Control supply and safety

Control wiring requires an external 24 V DC supply (19...30 V) for digital inputs, and an internal 24 V DC supply (21...27 V) powers the STO (safe torque off) circuit, which is certified to SIL 3. The drive also provides a 10.5 V DC ±5 % reference for a 1 to 10 kΩ potentiometer. Insulation resistance is 1 MΩ at 500 V DC for 1 minute to earth.

Fieldbus and option slots

Native communication includes dual RJ45 for Ethernet IP/Modbus TCP (10/100 Mbit/s) and one RJ45 for Modbus serial (4.8 to 38.4 kbit/s, RTU, 2-wire RS-485). Three option slots (A, B, C) accept fieldbus modules for Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, CANopen, EtherCAT, as well as digital/analog I/O or relay extension modules. Slot B also supports encoder or resolver interface modules.
