Harsh-environment RIO drop adaptor with PRP redundancy
The BMECRA31310H is a Modicon X80 Ethernet I/O head module built for remote I/O drops in harsh environments — conformal coated, gas and dust resistant per ISA S71.04 and IEC 60721-3-3, and rated for operation from -25 to 70 °C with 95 % humidity without condensation. It supports Parallel Redundancy Protocol (PRP) on two dedicated Ethernet ports (PRP Lan A and B), plus a third service port, so a single cable or switch failure doesn't drop the I/O scan — the head adaptor keeps publishing input data and updating outputs across the redundant ring.
Network and integration specs
Three 10/100BASE-TX RJ45 ports with auto-negotiation, auto-MDIX, and half/full duplex support. The module runs EtherNet/IP over PRP and also serves as a Modbus TCP server for diagnostics, with DHCP, TFTP, FTP, FDR, NTP v4, and SNMP v3 clients built in. Draws 155 mA from the 24 V DC supply. Mounts on a rack with screws; dimensions are 32 mm wide, 131 mm tall, 86.05 mm deep. IP20 finger-safe protection — suitable for enclosed cabinet installation, not for direct washdown zones.
