The BMENOR2200H is a Modicon M580 communication module from Schneider Electric, purpose-built for remote monitoring and telecontrol applications. It occupies a single slot on the main rack via the Ethernet + X-bus backplane and is powered internally through the rack supply. Physical dimensions are 1.3 in (32 mm) wide, 5.2 in (131 mm) high, and 3.4 in (86 mm) deep — a standard M580 form factor that fits any main rack slot.
Protocols and Communication Services
This module supports a full telecontrol protocol stack: DNP3 NET server/client (SAv2/SAv5 with pre-shared key), IEC 60870-5-101 and 104 server/client, and Modbus TCP messaging. It also includes an HTML5 web server, SNTP client, SNMP V1/V3 agent, NAT router, IP forwarding, and a data logging service. Time-stamped events are automatically backed up on power loss, and the module can transparently route events from remote servers to SCADA. For redundancy, the IEC 60870-5-104 channel can be duplicated. Physical connections are integrated: one RS232 RJ45 (115200 bit/s, 8 wires), one RS485 RJ45 (115200 bit/s, twisted shielded pair), and two Ethernet RJ45 ports (10/100/1000 Mbit/s, double shielded twisted pair). Maximum of four such modules per rack.
Cybersecurity and Compliance
The BMENOR2200H carries Achilles certification and implements role-based access control, system hardening, secure HTTPS communication, TLS for RTU protocols, SNMP logging, certificate-based authentication, and network physical isolation. It is CE marked and complies with IEC 61131-2, IEC 61010-2-201, UL 61010-2-201, CSA C22.2 No 61010-2-201, IEC 61850-3 (location G), IEC 60079-0 (hazardous location Class I Division 2), and the ATEX directive 2014/34/EU. Environmental resilience includes conformal coating, shock resistance 30 gn, vibration resistance 3 gn, and gas/dust/salt/mold resistance per ISA S71.04 and IEC 60721-3-3.
